This summer support is provided to enhance extramural funding, to develop new projects through preliminary data collection, to foster interdisciplinary research, and to support new research and artistic activities by faculty.The Research and Artistry Committee emphasizes research/artistry support for beginning faculty.More information regarding Research and Artistry.
Faculty Travel Support
This funding is available for faculty members presenting at national/international conferences.The Division of Research & Graduate Studies has begun accepting requests for FY2008 financial support. Due to the high level of requests, faculty members are only allowed to receive support for one conference per fiscal year. More information regarding Faculty Travel (PDF).
Limited Investment for Research to Enhance Extramural Funding
This funding is provided to departments, divisions, or centers to enhance extramural funding. It is primarily focused on increasing competitive extramural research and development grants. Six departments have received awards beginning in FY2007 (July 2007) and continuing through FY2008.This funding is not continuous and is based on availability of resources within the Division of Research & Graduate Studies and departmental progress.
Equipment Subvention
This support is provided to faculty members in order to service, upgrade, or purchase scientific equipment that will keep our faculty competitive in securing extramural funds. Fourteen departments received support in July 2007 for their research equipment.This funding is not continuous and is based on availability of resources within the Division of Research & Graduate Studies.
